Bioenergy Conference, March 14 -17, 2011 in Nairobi, Kenya
GEIST organised a 4-day Bioenergy/Biogas conference in Nairobi together with EAFF and KNFJKA on March 14 in Nairobi. The focus of the conference was to discuss on how biogas technology can be used to maintain soil fertilty by recycling human manure and organic waste, create new job opportunities for farmers, produce cooking fuel, electricity and vehicle fuel and create a new future for people living in slum areas. How stand alone systems for electricity production with biogas, wind and solar energy can become an sustainable alternative to the GIBE 3 dam project was also highlighted.
